Mission Statement from Stagecoach Galway
I was recently asked to sum up Stagecoach in a few bullet points. Not an easy task! - but having been here for nearly five years, I realise why the schools are special.
We are aware that we inherited something that was here before we arrived on the scene. We are proud of the Stagecoach heritage and our central mission is to educate children and young people to the highest artistic standards we can. To make them better singers, dancers and actors and we continue to believe that educational values are just as important as professional and artistic ones.
We are committed to continuously raising our own standards of teaching but create a safe space, where students can enjoy expressive arts regardless of their level of ability and experience.
No parent or guardian sends their child to Stagecoach to be also-rans and every students journey matters. We believe talent is a given gift, but ask students to share our values. Perseverance, commitment, mutual respect, politeness, self discipline and a generosity of spirit. These are real skills. Skills not just for the stage, but for life.
In short, a commitment to teach well, employ well, pursue excellence and make a difference!
