LAMDA Group Musical Theatre Examination Success at Stagecoach
Stagecoach Galway have passed their first international Group Musical Theatre Examinations with the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, widely known as LAMDA, the world's second oldest drama school.
Stagecoach, which runs from St Mary's College on Saturdays, were entered on the 11th December at the Bank of Ireland Theatre, NUI Galway, prior to their parents performance of Olivia by Malcolm Sircom.
A total of eighty three candidates aged 7 to 16 presented Scene 3, a seven minute musical scene involving two musical numbers, original choreography and one acting scene for the LAMDA entry level category,"Group Musical Theatre For The Actor/Singer". Both Stagecoach centres passed with Distinction with the morning school receiving 85% and the PM school attaining a pass mark of 88%.
Stagecoach Principal John Lucey said "We are delighted with these exam results and this is a wonderful testament to all the hard work that our teachers and students have put in over the last three years" he continued "These are challenging times, I'm hoping a little bit of good news lifts a few hearts this morning but we are very proud of our students!"
