Stagecoach and GMIT in brand new film project for March 2012!
Stagecoach Galway have announced a brand new alliance with the third level film school at the Galway and Mayo Institute of Technology for 2012.
The part time schools, train children and teenagers in professional classes for dance, drama and singing and will work alongside leading film lecturers and second year students for an eight minute short film to be filmed in March during normal class times on a Saturday. The short film will be Stagecoach and GMIT's third collaboration, but this is the second project where credits will go towards the students final BA degree in Film and Television in partnership with the renowned Galway Film Centre.
Principal John Lucey said "We have enjoyed a close relationship with GMIT over the last three years and this new project cements this creative partnership" he added"This will be mutually beneficial because it gives our students more time in front of camera, but also GMIT get a quality film product written and directed by undergraduates" he continued "we filmed some memorable monologues last year which had quite an impact so it's nice to take this to to the next level" "This is an exciting development and we are delighted to be working with Celine Curtin and all of the GMIT team" he added "Finally, there is the bonus for students to see their work possibly at a future film festival and hopefully on stagecoach.tv also!"
