Principal - John Lucey - Arts Ed Dip
Originally from London, John completed his professional actor training at Arts Educational Schools London and with The Acting Company in 1998. During his training, John was fortunate enough to work with various actors and directors on a wide variety of stage productions including, William Shakespeare's Macbeth, George Bernard Shaw's Arms and The Man and Stephen Schwarz's The Baker's Wife. Alongside work for stage, John gained valuable experience in screen acting during his time in training, working with former BBC producer and writer Michael Ferguson, who cast him in his first professional role in "The Bill". Since graduating, John has appeared in London's West End, The Royal Court and Lyric Hammersmith as well as numerous film and televison appearances for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky One and RTE. John is an experienced writer and corporate role player working with a diverse range of clients in the public and private sector. He has been working for Stagecoach for five years and is also Principal of Stagecoach Galway.
Singing Coach - Alison McGreevy - MA in Drama and Theatre Studies
Alison graduated with an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies from NUI, Galway, in 2009 and is currently studying for her HDip in Primary Education with Hibernia College. Alison has a passion for musical theatre for children, and has performed herself in theatre schools, pantomimes and musicals throughout Galway. Whilst studying for her undergraduate degree, Alison took up the role of Musical Director with the University's Musical Society (GUMS) and produced Back to the 80s and Disco Inferno. For her work with GUMS, Alison was awarded an honourary life membership in 2009. Her MA opened the door to working with Graffitti Theatre Company in Cork where she spent many fruitful months. Alison has studied Voice and Piano with the Royal Irish Academy of Music achieving her Diploma in voice in 2007 and grade 8 in piano in 2006. She also studied clarinet with the Associated Board of Music. Alison has a wide range of teaching experience at Stagecoach Clare and Galway having previously taught our Early Stages students also.
Drama Coach - Zita Monahan - ADPA. MA in Drama and Theatre Studies
Zita has worked for Stagecoach for over three years since completing her MA in Drama and Theatre studies from NUIG. Zita is a professional actress, member of Mephisto Theatre Company and co- founder of Waterdonkey Theatre in Galway. Her theatre credits as an actor and director include for Mephisto: Dystance, Dilatation, The World's Wife (which toured to the Brighton Fringe Festival May 2010), The Importance of Being Earnest and Art. Other work incudes I-Keano ( Lane Productions), Ashes to Ashes by Harold Pinter (Suantraí Theatre) and The Secret Garden (Moonfish Theatre, which was part of the highly acclaimed International Children's Theatre Festival Baboró). Film and TV work includes Éalú 2 TG4 2009, Jack Taylor TG4 2010 and appearances on Imeall TG4 2010 ; Dogged ( 2009), Strangely on a Train ( 2010), Nun or the Udder (2010) for independent film-maker Richard Walsh. Zita is also drama teacher in our Galway centres and recently passed her ADPA teaching exams with Stagecoach, an internationally accredited professional qualification for the teaching of Performance Arts.
Early Stages, Dance Coach - Sorcha Barry - B.Mus
Sorcha has now worked for Stagecoach Clare for three years. A talented and enthusiastic dance coach for children and she has recently graduated with an honours degree in Music, majoring in performance, at NUI Maynooth. Sorcha is also currently completing a performance diploma and has danced professionally for fundraisers, fashion shows, corporate events and has been actively involved with choreography for many shows and musicals. Sorcha studied ballet and modern dance with CDA. As well as teaching at Stagecoach Clare and Galway centres, Sorcha also teaches keyboard and piano lessons in Ratoath School of Music and Glasnevin School of Music.
Early Stages Coach - Lisa Seary
Lisa is currently completing her BA degree in Voice and Dance in the University of Limerick. A native of Galway, Lisa has worked as an assistant choral director with the Galway Gospel Choir and is currently Assitant Voice Tutor at the Durham Voice Studio. Lisa is no stranger to the stage having performed with theatre schools and musical societies throughout Galway. Over the past year, Lisa has assisted in teaching students of Access Music
Project Galway as well as Access Music Project's "School of Rock".
In previous years, Lisa has directed the Knocknacarra children's choir also and is delighted to be now working for Stagecoach Clare.
